What documents are required to open a Business Account?

Please refer to our application checklist for the documents required.

I want to open a Business Account, however my directors don’t live in Singapore. Do they have to come down personally?

In order for us to better understand the nature of your business, we do require a face-to-face meeting with at least two directors before we can open your Business Account. For other directors who are unable to come down to Singapore, we will require a notary public to notarise their signatures.


How do I apply?

There are three ways to apply.

Alternatively, please download and complete the application form and board resolution and submit it at any DBS or POSB branch, along with all of the necessary documents in our application checklist.

Deposit Insurance Scheme

Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors and monies and deposits denominated in Singapore dollars under the Supplementary Retirement Scheme are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$50,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.

Change of min. average balance & fall-below fee

For SGD Business Account, the minimum average daily balance requirement will be changed from SGD 8,000 to SGD 10,000 and fall-below fee will be changed from SGD 25 to SGD 35 with effect from 1 Jan'15.
