Security Tips

Important tips on how you can safeguard and protect your PIN:

  • Never reveal your PIN to anyone.
  • Never use the same DBS IDEAL™ PIN for other web-based services.
  • Select a unique PIN so it's difficult for anyone to guess (e.g. not to use birth dates or phone numbers) .
  • Do not use sequential or repetitive numbers (e.g. 123456 or 111111 ).
  • Memorise your PIN. Do not write it down or store it.
  • Change your PIN regularly by using the Administration Services > My Tasks > Change of PIN service (minimum 6 digits, maximum 9 digits) .
  • Change your PIN immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access .
  • Before entering your User ID and PIN, check that the site you are visiting belongs to DBS by verifying that the URL displayed in the internet browser is correct.
  • E nsure that DBS IDEAL™ URL is preceded by "https" and there should be a security icon that looks like a lock or key on the internet browser.
  • Use the latest internet browser for updated security features.
  • Avoid storing Organisation ID/ User ID/PIN in your browser's cache.
  • Avoid using shared/public computers to access DBS IDEAL™.
  • Ensure your anti-virus software is updated regularly against the latest Trojan viruses.

Important tips on how you can safeguard and protect your DBS IDEAL™ Security Device:

  • N ever reveal your DBS IDEAL™ Security Device PIN to anyone .
  • Each DBS IDEAL Security Device is unique and tagged to your User ID. You will not be able to use another person's registered security device to input as your DBS IDEAL Security Access Code.
  • Do not leave your DBS IDEAL ™ Security Device unattended and always keep it under lock and key when not using it.
  • Never tamper with your DBS IDEAL™ Security Device.
  • Change your DBS IDEAL™ Security Device PIN regularly by pressing and holding the red for more than 2 seconds.

Note : No staff of DBS Bank should ever ask you for your PIN for whatever reasons.

As an added security measure, make sure you clear your cache and history after each session of login.
