CHANGES TO THE DBS50 INDEX

1 DBS Bank wishes to announce the following changes to the DBS50 index constituent stocks, which will take effect after the close of trading on 2 Oct 98.

2 Following the merger between Sembawang Corporation and STIC, these two stocks will be removed from the index. SembCorp Industries and Lindeteves-Jacoberg will be added to the index.
