Seasoned Journalist To Head Group Communications

SINGAPORE, June 6, 2003 - DBS Group Holdings Ltd (DBS) announced today that Business Times senior correspondent Catherine Ong will join DBS Bank in the third quarter of this year, as Managing Director and Head, Group Communications.
Ong will be responsible for DBS' media relations, management and employee communications, shareholder communications, corporate identity and brand management, and corporate advertising.
Ong began her 22-year career in journalism with The Business Times. Apart from covering media news out of Singapore with the Straits Times and Business Times, Catherine also completed assignments in two other major financial centres, Hong Kong and New York.
DBS CEO Jackson Tai said, "We are pleased to have Catherine on the DBS team. Catherine brings recognised journalist credentials through her work in Singapore, Hong Kong and New York. She will help us sharpen our communications initiatives with our many constituents, including our employees, counterparts, customers, shareholders, the media and the community at large. Julie Yeo, who served as acting head of Group Communications will continue as a senior member of the team, reporting to Ong.
