ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Chairman appointed to DBSH Board Of Directors

SINGAPORE, July 29, 2003 - DBS Group Holdings Ltd (DBSH) announced today the appointment of Kwa Chong Seng, Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Asia-Pacific, to its board of directors. Kwa is currently the Lead Country Manager for the ExxonMobil Companies in Singapore with responsibility for Fuels Marketing in the Asia Pacific region, including Japan and Australia.

A graduate in mechanical engineering from the University of Singapore, Kwa joined Esso Singapore in 1969. He was involved in the startup of the Singapore refinery and had held various roles in Logistics, Marketing and other parts of the downstream business. He also spent nine years in Exxon offices in New Jersey, Houston, New York and Hong Kong responsible for Marketing, Supply, Trading and Investment Planning.

Kwa is also Chairman of Media Corporation of Singapore, and Deputy Chairman, Temasek Holdings. He also serves on the Public Service Commission, the Legal Service Commission in Singapore, and the National University of Singapore Council.

DBSH Board of Directors comprises 12 members, including one executive director and four non-Singaporeans. They are:
