OF ITS SELF-SERVICE BANKING NETWORK

Strategic Partnership With SMRT Extends The Bank's Presence
To New Circle Line Stations

SINGAPORE, 29 April 2010 - DBS is expanding its self-service banking network to provide even greater reach and convenience for its customers. In addition to having Singapore’s largest ATM network with 970 ATMs islandwide, DBS will add another 100 new machines by the end of the year, bringing its ATM network to 1070. Most of the new ATMs will be located at SMRT MRT stations, including 16 SMRT Circle Line stations.

Along with the ATMs, DBS’ network of self-service machines includes 230 Cash Acceptance Machines (CAMs), 650 AXS Stations, 30 coin deposit machines and nine cheque deposit machines.

DBS’ agreement with SMRT will extend its preferred partnership to all SMRT Circle Line stations when it is fully operational by 2011. This agreement enables the Bank to place its ATMs and CAMs at convenient locations in all SMRT MRT stations. Currently, the Bank has over 85 POSB ATMs in 48 MRT stations.

Mr Rajan Raju, Group Executive of DBS Bank Consumer Banking Group said: " The expansion of DBS’ already extensive local network is part of our efforts to reach out to our four million customers. The increase of the number of self-service machines and the successful launch of our Mobile Banking platform are part of our ongoing initiatives to make banking even more accessible to Singaporeans on-the-move.”

Mobile Banking (mBanking), launched on 11 April, 2010, allows DBS/POSB’s customers to review their accounts, make bill payments and bank transfers via their mobile phones while enjoying a unique “money-safe” guarantee, which protects them from unauthorized transactions. Over 50,000 customers have signed up for mBanking within the first two weeks of the launch.

Mr Raju added: “The ATM will remain a key point of contact for many of our customers. The agreement with SMRT further extends our longstanding partnership to the SMRT Circle Line, allowing us to serve the 200,000 commuters who are expected to use the line daily. With our expansive network of ATMs, AXS Stations and CAMs, our customers will be able to perform their banking transactions 24/7, all across Singapore.”

Ms Teo Chew Hoon, Vice President of Commercial Business, SMRT Investments and Vice President, SMRT Taxis said: “SMRT is happy that DBS is adding more Automated Teller Machines and Cash Acceptance Machines at our MRT stations as this brings greater convenience to our commuters. With a daily ridership of more than 2.2 million and a growing network of 82 stations, SMRT is pleased to collaborate with DBS as a preferred platform for DBS to expand its services.”

The Bank will have the highest proliferation of ATMs along the SMRT MRT lines. DBS/POSB’s network of ATMs are also well represented at 75 Esso and SPC petrol stations as well as over 100 supermarkets such as the NTUC FairPrice.
