Individual Plan - If you are travelling on your own and/or up to up to 6 individuals (including yourself)
Family Plan - If you are travelling as a family (yourself, your legal spouse and any number of legal children up to the age of 18 years1). This option gives you a significantly discounted rate compared to individual insurance covers. For the Single Trip Plan, the family needs to travel together but for the Annual Plan, family members can travel separately.
Single Trip Plan - For a single round trip, with premiums based on the number of days you are out.
Annual Plan - For any number of round trips during a 12-month period. The Annual Plan option makes sense for the frequent traveller, since it results in significantly lower premiums per trip. It is also a lot more convenient, since you don't have to call and activate the policy each time.
The cost of insurance depends on how far you travel. To make things easier, we have divided the world into three areas - and your premium increases the further you go from Singapore. Select the furthest point of your itinerary for the right travel insurance cover. If your country of travel is not listed here, it will fall within Area 3.
Area 1: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Area 2: Australia, China (excluding inner Mongolia and Tibet), Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, including countries in Area 1.
Area 3: Worldwide including countries in Area1 and Area 2.
Classic Plan - Typically, this covers all situations you are likely to face on your travels - from lost luggage to hospitalisation in a foreign country.
Premier Plan - This gives you a higher coverage amount for major benefits and provides cover for additional situations - from car rental excesses to credit card loss.
The Premier Plan costs a little more than the Classic Plan. Click here to view the table of benefits for Classic Plan versus Premier Plan.
Your premium cost depends on all the factors discussed above. For example, the Family Plan will cost more than the Individual Plan.
