Who can apply for TravellerShield?
Any person age 18 years and above can apply for the insurance.

What are the types of Plan available?
Two types of Plan are available: Premier Plan or Classic Plan, providing different level of benefits to meet your travel insurance needs. The Premier Plan comes with bonus covers not available under the Classic Plan.

What is Individual Cover?
It provides cover for one Insured Person only.

What is Family Cover?
A Family Cover comprise the Insured, his/her legal spouse and all their legal Child(ren).

What is the meaning of "Child"?
For TravellerShield, Child means the Adult applicant's legal child who is unmarried and unemployed, above 1 month old and below 18 years or up to 23 years of age if studying full time in a recognised institution of higher learning, at the commencement of any Journey.

Can I buy Individual Cover for my Child only?
Yes, you can buy Individual Cover for your legal Child. However, if the Child is under the age of 12 years, a parent or Adult guardian must accompany the Child during the Journey. The benefits payable under the Policy will be subject to the limit for "Child Insured Person", where applicable.

What is a Single Return Trip Policy?
A Single Return Trip Policy covers the entire return trip (not exceeding 180 consecutive days) from the time during the Period of Insurance that the Insured Person leaves his/her Home or workplace in Singapore for the sole purpose of commencing a trip abroad to three (3) hours after the Insured Person arrives back in Singapore or on the expiry date of the Period of Insurance shown in the Schedule, whichever is sooner.

What is an Annual Policy?
If you travel frequently, apply for Annual Policy for attractive savings and convenience as you are automatically covered for all your trips taken during the Period of Insurance. You can make unlimited number of trips during the Period of Insurance, provided each trip does not exceed 90 consecutive days from the departure date.
If you bought a Family, Annual Policy, the Insured Persons under the Family Cover are not required to travel together on a Journey. However, any Child Insured Person under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or Adult Guardian for any Journey.

How do I select the Travel Region if I am travelling to more than one country?
If you are going to more than one country, please select the Travel Region (Area A, B or C) of your furthest destination from Singapore.
For example, if you are travelling to Thailand and USA, please select Area C (Worldwide). Note that all trips must commence and return to Singapore.
If you travel to Thailand and return to Singapore before setting off again to USA, that will be counted as two trips and you need to purchase two travel policies to cover each trip separately.

Can foreigners buy TravellerShield?
Yes, foreigners ordinarily residing in Singapore and holding an employment pass or work permit can buy TravellerShield. Please note that this insurance will only cover for a round trip commencing and returning to Singapore within the period of insurance.

Can I buy TravellerShield for my business trip?
Yes, TravellerShield provides cover for both leisure and business. However, certain professions are excluded, such as persons engaging in military service or operations, manual work, offshore work, mining, aerial photography, flying or other aerial activities (except travelling as a fare paying passenger on a commercial airline).

I am above 70 years old. Can I apply for TravellerShield?
There is no age limit for application. However, if you are aged 70 years old and above, you are only eligible for Classic Plan (with reduction in benefits under Section 2 to 4). Please refer to the Policy for details.

Can I apply for TravellerShield at the airport just before departing from Singapore?
Yes, you may apply for TravellerShield so long as you have not boarded the plane, provided at the time of applying the insurance you are not aware of any circumstances which are likely to lead to a claim.

Is winter sport covered under TravellerShield?
Yes, winter sports (for leisure) are covered. However, hazardous activities involving ski racing, backcountry skiing or off-piste skiing, ski jumping and the use of bobsleigh or skeleton are excluded.

You should quote your full name and NRIC/Passport No. for identification. Please ensure you receive a confirmation from MSIG Insurance for the changes and pay the additional premium, if applicable. There will be no refund of premium for any changes. You can only change the commencement date if you notify MSIG Insurance prior to the commencement of your trip or Period of Insurance, whichever is the sooner.

Will there be any refund of premium if I cancel my policy?
For a Single Return Trip Policy, you may cancel the policy at any time prior to commencement of the Period of Insurance, provided no claims is made and MSIG Insurance will retain a minimum premium of $50.
For an Annual Policy, you may cancel your policy at any time during the Period of Insurance by giving 7 days written notice to MSIG Insurance. If at the time of cancellation the policy is in force for 180 days or less, you will be entitled to a refund of premium based on our short period rates (as stated in the Policy) provided no claim is made. No refund is allowed if your policy is in force for more than 180 days.

How do I make a claim?
- If you are overseas and require any emergency assistance, you can call MSIG Assist 24 Hour Hotline (65) 6337 6776.
- If you wish to file a claim on your insurance, you have to do so within one month upon your return to Singapore. Please lodge your claim with MSIG Claims Department as soon as you return to Singapore from your overseas trip.
- A "Travel Insurance Claim Form" will be sent to you for completion. You can also download and print the claim form from www.msig.com.sg.
- Return the completed "Travel Insurance Claim Form" to MSIG General Claims Department together with the supporting documents.

Click on 'eNETS Credit' at the Application Summary page. |

You will then be redirected to the eNETS Credit gateway page. Enter your Name, Credit Card Number and Expiry Date then click 'Submit'. Alternatively you may log on to 'eNETS Credit' to enter your 'eNETS ID' and 'PIN' and select your 'Credit Card Alias'. |

You will be shown a pop-up box. Click on 'Ok' if you want to continue with the transaction and 'Cancel' if you want to terminate the transaction. |

How do I pay by Direct Debit?
You will need your internet banking 'User ID' and 'PIN' from any of the following banks:

Will I be charged to use this service?
No, this service is free of charge.

How do I know that my application has been successfully processed?
You will receive an electronic receipt once your payment and transaction is successfully processed. You will also receive an email acknowledgement if you have provided an email address.

When will I receive my policy?
You will receive your TravellerShield policy by mail within 7 working days from date of your application. You may also download a copy of the Policy terms and conditions from www.dbs.com/sg/personal.

Who can I contact if I encountered technical problems when making my payments online?
You may send via e-mail, detailing your technical problems, to info@nets.com.sg or call NETS Call Centre at 6274 1322 during office hours.
To serve you better, please provide the following information:
- Date and time when error occurred
- The error message(s) or describe the screen you encountered
- Your Credit Card type
- The Operating System (Windows, Macintosh, Unix) you are using
- Browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator)
- Your contact number during office hours

What type of hardware do I need to make my payments online?
We recommend the following:
- PC with at least a Pentium 133MHz processor or faster
- 32 MB RAM or higher
- SVGA or higher resolution monitor, 256 colours minimum
- Modem of 28.8 kbps or higher
- Windows 9x / NT / ME / XP Operating system

Can I use other operating systems, other than Win9x/NT? eNETS Credit was developed specifically for Windows 9x or NT or XP operating system. Other operating systems may not be compatible.

There is a "Java Script Error" message on my computer. What should I do? This usually happens when a transaction is attempted before the Java applet is completely loaded into your PC.
To reload the applet, click on the toolbar, re-select the transaction and wait for the loading to be completed before you proceed. If this does not help, try clearing the browser's cache before you log in again.

What should I do if I see "This program has performed an illegal operation message on my PC"? This is commonly known as GPF (General Protection Fault). You'll have to restart your browser. If the problem persists, please consult your PC vendor.

I am using Internet Explorer 6 and am unable to access the payment pages. What can I do? Internet Explorer 6, which ships with Windows XP, is not pre-installed with the Microsoft® Virtual Machine (VM), a component which is required to run Java applets. Java technology is used on the e-payment system to ensure greater security.
As such, you will need to install the Microsoft® VM in order to proceed with your transaction. Please follow the instructions on screen when prompted, or click here for instructions on downloading and installation. |
