I have heard many instances that people lose money from buying UT. Is it safe?

Any tips on how i can start? Am still paying off my student loans and do not have a lot when it comes to disposable cash to invest. Would also say that i am moderately risk adverse, so anything crypto is something i'll not be comfortable investing in.
