i read a few blogs of people who managed their own renovation - they said they won't do it again because if it is too much work to manage all the contractors.

However, if you are doing simple renovation, I think as long as you know the design you want, can do it on your own.

If you are renovating the whole house, then will depend on whether you have the time to manage the contractors.

@ponie4prez do check out online reviews on the IDs. I think this is quite important. You would want a ID that follows through promptly, with good design sense.

I recently just completed my Reno, what I did was I set aside a sum of money within my budget of ~$50k. With my budget in mind, I compared a few quotes across different IDs to find one that could give me a design I am happiest with.

I eally want to hear thoughts from those who've gone through the process:

• For a 5-room flat, is around S$50,000 - S$60,000 decent for someone who's looking for one of those plain Scandinavian style homes that everyone and their mum likes?

• Any tips at what to consider when picking an ID? Is one even needed?
