Is cashback better than miles given the Covid-19 situation now?

Despite being a "mile chaser" for many years, given the uncertainty in air travel, i have also noticed that i have been going down the instant gratification route of Cashback with the LF card.

it really depends on what you value. for airmiles, how optimistic is the situation that travel will be back to pre-covid days. if traveling is not in your plan in the near future, opt for cashback now.

For me, cash back is the winner since airlines can devalue miles anytime. Also less restrictions on actually using it, as compared to paying to redeem miles, being restricted to certain airlines, looking for award space and so on.

This one's a thinker! If you've yet to sign up for a credit card, my advice is to consider looking at cards with no expiry/long validity periods to redeem my miles and cashback.

In what situation would you prefer one to the other, @Ahkit26?
