My go-to #WFH hack is to pool food delivery with neighbours. It helps save delivery fees (it almost becomes negligible) and helps qualify for minimum spending promotions!
We order meals together in one order and split the delivery costs while enjoying more promotions
-
Making my own drinks at home instead of buying from outside! Tbh reducing bbt spends is also healthier for my body #lesssugar
- My sister drips her own coffee at home now, instead of buying from kopitiams/Starbucks - $5-12 saved per week!
- I stock up on tea during sales which last me for at least a year! each drink is probably less than $1 vs $4-5 dollars outside
- Recently got a blender and I can make my own "boost" juice! fresh fruits with no added sugar is a much better choice~ ps it makes soya milk too so I love how it's multifunctional!
-
Since #WFH, I have started using 3 different money hacks (all which are somehow related to food) to help me save up on money!!
-
Use of Self-Pickup services on Foodpanda/Grab! Ordering in lunch/dinner seems so easy when you are working. But you get to save some money (and also exercise) when you walk out to dabao all your own food!
-
If you are visiting the hawker centre/food courts, bring your own containers and cups when you take away food and drinks. Save up on that 20cents when you bring your own container and save the earth!
-
Cook at home, and meal prep in the morning, before work, for your lunch! I'll use my POSB Everyday card to get that 5% cash rebates from Sheng Shiong store (or Redmart, when I'm really too lazy to travel out to buy my grocery!)

@sjh1993 You are legend lmao
-
#WFH money hack for me is to never order any food delivery. I always try to cook my own food or eat hawker centre food. Very fast and cheap if you get into the routine of doing it. You never realise just how much money you spend when you order in 3 times a day!
-
Working from home means travelling less! With the money saved from eating our and traveling fare, I have invested it using robo advisor! Another #WFH money saving tip is to order your food deliveries for everyone! Avoid ordering for yourself only, further more larger purchases are eligible for more discount codes! Lots of money saved that way!!!
-
WFH means we have to use our own aircon! And since Singapore is so hot, it's really tempting to turn it on everyday. A great alternative is to close the windows and curtains and drink a cup of ice-cold water, try it! It's seriously simple and good.
-
Using Foodpanda pick up or Grabfood pick up to get lunch for my family and myself when there is pickup promo code along with percentage discount for pick up. As it is even cheaper then dabao-ing direct from the hawker!!
and can skip queue and no need pay extra for dabao container fee woohoo!! #WFH money hack #savetime #savemoney

I tend to shop online using Shopee, so I will add my items to cart and wait to checkout on Thursdays. I get $10 off as DBS/POSB is the bank of the day on Thursdays
Before I started working, I have a DBS multiplier account and have eligible transactions through PayLah to enjoy higher interest.
Now I started working, I deposit my salary into DBS Multiplier account, have my credit card and insurance transactions paid through my Multiplier account to enjoy even higher interest rates. I also have setup a monthly deposit to the SAYE account to enjoy an extra 2% p.a. interest. This setup maximise my interest income -
My #WFH money hack is to use fitness apps like Lumi Health/ Healthy365 to earn points and redeem vouchers when i exercise from home. One of the perks of working from home is that I get more time for rest and exercise since I save time without needing to commute from home to the office.
I love to take brisk walks in the evening, sometimes to run errands. With more time to myself thanks to WFH, I have the time to walk long distances- about 5-10km+/ day. It would be great if I could win this ergonomic chair to improve my WFH set up as I will be working from home permanently even without the pandemic. I am still using my βstudyingβ set up from back when I was in primary school
so my chair way is too short for me now.

#WFH money hack
Ever since I started working from home, leaving my house for social purposes has become a less and less frequent. Money starts to accumulate in my bank account and I find myself with extra time to spare too (due to zero travelling time). This spare time can be better used to be involved in DBS community online sharing about inexhaustible and several other insights. Besides that, what I did with the accumulated wealth in my bank was to invest using Robo-advisor. Their returns thus far from the start of the year have been great at around ~10%.
I also started a side hustle by doing food delivery using my bicycle. More money never hurts -
My favourite #WFH money hack is to cook your own meals at home. Buying groceries are always much cheaper than ordering via delivery as these platforms do also increase their prices to profit from the transaction. Using breaks between work to do food preparation also ensures that I do not stay seated for too long in front of the screen.
-
My favourite #WFH money hack is drinking 2-in-1 coffee instead of buying expensive coffee. My favourite brand of coffee is Owlβs 2-in-1 Freeze Dried Coffee with Creamer, which costs $5.45 for 25 packets.
Each cup only costs $0.20 as opposed to coffee outside which costs at least $1, and can cost up to $6/$7. -
My favourite #WFH money hack is to cook your meals rather than ordering delivery. Cooking is much cheaper than ordering takeout/delivery. You can also pre-plan meals so it saves time on cooking as well!
-
#WFH money hack: make your money work smarter and longer for you, not just with investments but also your daily needs. Like a proper chair that can last you years like ergotune instead of cheap brands that you have to change every year!
-
My favourite WFH money (and time saving) hack is to use the self pick up function in Foodpanda/Grabfood! Most times, there are discounts for self pick up orders, allowing us to save money as some stores would be cheaper on such food ordering apps.
Additionally, we can order in advance and skip the queue, allowing us to maximise our wfh lunch break!
-
#WFH money hack. Cook lunch at home!! U can save money by buying your own groceries and having a warm meal from the comfort of your own home instead of ordering food delivery or heading out to dine in during #TimesOfNormalcy .
-
Buy unit trusts with DBS and sign up for POSB Cashback Bonus on your deposit account to get 3% cashback on your investment! Literally getting paid to invest.
-
My favourite #WFH money hack
would be I get to save more money in my specially dedicated savings account from the so much which can be saved, from saving transport costs, having homemade meals, beverages such as 3-in-1 instant coffee and tea as perk-me-ups and more.

Lunch preparations in bulk instead of ordering deliveries~
