Being a super fresh grads, I spent so much to pamper myself and my family after getting my first few paychecks - food, accessories, clothes. You named it.

But my BIGGEST regret was my spending on a HAIR SPA PACKAGE. I spent $1.2k - which maynot be much for some. But with a monthly income of only $3.2k, that is a huge hole in my wallet. Just when I thought I had control of my spending, a persistent, dogged hairdresser forced me to say yes to the package.

The aftermath? I am still determined to have my savings goal by the end of this year, which forces me to say no to some meet-ups with friends or networks and dabao-ing food from home. I guess the lesson is to know your limit spending and make it non-negotiable.

Spending $15k in two months on a mobile game. Back then, I didn't manage my money well and have no clue about finance in general...Started to dive into financial literacy recently and understand more about how to manage my money.

              1. Revenge spending on unnecessary items and entertainments right after COVID in first half of the year.

              2. Invested in correlated assets/equities, hence failed to minimise investment losses.

              3. Not having a side hustle to diversify income source.

              4. Failed to keep track of my expenses, resulting in overspending.

My financial regret this year is locking in $20k in a 8-month fixed deposit with DBS at a promo rate of 2.45% p.a. in September. On hindsight, I could’ve waited a while longer, especially when there are more attractive low-risk alternatives out in the market now!

If I had taken profit on my investment before the dip, I can now park my investment n it’s profit in safe n high interest accounts!

Not doing due diligence myself, swayed my belief on crypto due to following online forums without logical thinking and the greed to get rich quick to stand out. End up losing money in crypto stocks and other speculative stocks. It is a humbling experience

There was a month, I spent my entire month’s pay on useless things and clubbing/drinking. Still regretful to this day.

my financial regret is not doing my research before investing and jumping on bandwagons. Lost alot of money this year due to crypto investing.
