I'd only consider getting a renovation loan if the space was in very poor shape, like if the bathroom or kitchen can't be used at all. If it's something you can live with, then maybe have the work done later and in small parts so the expense is more manageable and you don't have to take out a loan for it.

1 2RE: Overseas University loan
The institutions recognized under the CPF Education Loan Sheme or Tuition Fee Loan are local UNIs. There is a Further Study Assist (FSA) loan by POSB that can be used for approved overseas schools and this can be under your childs name with you as a guarantor.

1 4RE: Cranky when brushing teeth
2 tricks that worked for my child:
- I make him brush my teeth while I brush his. He feels like he's helping me so he's more inclined to let me help him
- The "copy me" game! We brush our teeth together and I challenge him to copy me!
Also, instead of asking or telling him to brush his teeth, I now ask him how much toothpaste he wants on is brush. He gets a thrill out of squeezing the tube but i gotta control that part otherwise the entire tube is wasted. Lol

1 2RE: ShopeePay excluded from earning credit card bonus rewards and bonus cashback
Read through the terms of both DBS Woman's card just now and ShopeePay is not included in the 5x rewards (DBS Woman's Card) and 10x rewards (DBS Woman's World Card) feature. I'll share a link below for a full view of what is and isn't eligible.

1 7How do you control your urge to splurge?
I'm not sure if it's the WFH situation or what, but my impulse buying trend has gone up
, and this doesn't count the things we really need at home (groceries, replacing damaged item, etc). Any tips on how to stick to the budget and keep that impulse in control?

My RSP investments appear in my consolidated e-statements. Have you tried opting in for e-statements via digibank?
It might be best to reach out to the service team for this. Send an email to [email protected] with a screenshot of your post so they can look into how your statements are set up.

1 3RE: Does DBS/POSB has Education Savings Plan?
You can check out 'ManuEdu First'. You set it up based on 1) the amount you want insured and 2) the payout age to coincide with when you think your child will start attending uni.
This can cover your child against death and terminal illness too but best to talk to the right people so they can discuss the specifics. The wealth planning managers can guide and assist you with setting this up.
Visit https://go.dbs.com/3we9taT for all the details and a helpful visual for ManuEdu First and click on the Contact Me option if you need more help and want to apply for the plan. -

1 1Do you prefer to run at night or in the morning?
Went running with the family for the first time in a long time so we're ready for the second virtual edition of the POSB PAssion Run for Kids in November 2021. I'm wondering if the PM or AM is the best time to get this done. What do you prefer?
You can register here <go.posb.com.sg/3ztIh9F> for as as S$5! There'll be a Smiley Sticker Hunt and weekly mini events for attractive e-deals and lucky draw prizes.

0 1Would you spend S$1 Million or more on a resale HDB?
There are more of these million dollar transactions happening. Are they for investment? Out of need? What factors would you look at if you are buying a resale priced at a million or more?

0 3RE: Resale or BTO/SBF?
Can you afford to wait a few years or do you need it immediately and in a specific area? If I had the money and am willing to wait, I'd go for a BTO vs resale.

0 3RE: What is considered a good salary range for a family of 4?
This is a tough question. Instead of looking at a hard number (or range), you can look at your 'needs' expenses and see if that comes up to around 50% of your monthly income. Having 50% left over for savings and wants means you're pretty comfortable.

0 4RE: [Community Challenge] Make us drool with your hawker meal!
Grabbed dinner last night at the Kwek Seng Huat Eating House in Anchorvale. The zi char stall was busy (loved to see they had good business) so we'll have to go back for their sting ray. Got chicken rice, kway teow, and hokkien mee. Only remembered to take a pic of the hokkien mee.
If you're in the area, this is a good spot to grab a yummy meal!

0 2RE: Introducing CPF to your child?
I'm curious about this. There are so many components in CPF that I wonder if parents themselves feel comfortable talking about it, more so teach their kids about it on their own. A follow up question for this - Do you feel you know enough about CPF to ensure your child understands what it is and what it can do? Specifically wanna hear from parents who have young adult children.
