Introduction

What is MotorPay?

MotorPay is a service jointly provided by LTA and DBS to enable customers to pay ERP charges via their credit cards. DBS is the acquiring bank and payment partner for this service. Use of the MotorPay services is governed by the Terms and Conditions of MotorPay.

What happens if I have my CashCard inside the IU when I pass through a ERP gantry even though I signed up for this service?

If your CashCard is in the IU when passing through a gantry, the ERP charges will be deducted from the CashCard. If the CashCard has insufficient value for a ERP charge, the full ERP amount will then be charged to the Credit Card that you registered with MotorPay.

Can I use MotorPay service for car parks?

This service is currently for ERP payments only.

Registration

Which Credit Cards/Debit Cards can be used for this service?

Currently the service only accepts VISA/MASTERCARD Cards from any bank.

Can I use my Debit Card for this service?

Yes, provided that your Debit Card allows for online payment services and you ensure that you have sufficient balance in your Debit Card account. However, Visa Electron and MasterCard Electronic cards are not eligible for MotorPay Service.

What is the monthly subscription for?

It is a monthly fee for the processing and administration of the MotorPay service.

Do I have to pay for the monthly subscription even if I do not use the MotorPay service for the month?

Yes, as long as you are registered for the service, the monthly subscription applies.

Why is there an earmark on my Credit Card / Debit Card when I sign up for this service?

Earmarking means we set aside a part of the Card limit, it does not mean a charge to your Credit or Debit Card. Earmarking allows us to set aside of your card limit in preparation for your ERP charges. This earmarking is required for us to process your ERP charges for this service. You will only be charged when there are ERP transactions incurred by your registered vehicle. The earmarked amount is currently $50, but this amount is subject to variation from time to time.

Note: For Debit Card users, your available balance will be earmarked for the service. Therefore you will not be able to utilize the funds, once it's earmarked.

When will my Card be earmarked and release?

Your Card will be earmarked once you have submitted your vehicle information successfully. Thereafter your Card will be earmarked every Sunday. Release of the earmarked amount is done every 7-14 days, depending on your issuing bank.

What happens if I use up the earmarked amount earmark for my ERP charges?

If at any time during the week, 80% of the earmarked amount is used, there will be an additional earmarking of $50.

Is there any limit to the ERP charges charged to my registered Credit Card/Debit Card?

No, so long as you are within your card limit. To avoid disruption to MotorPay service, it's very important that your Credit card / Debit Card has sufficient balance. You may wish to use Credit Cards that are not being used for interest free payment scheme or cards with revolving balances.

How long does it take for this service to be activated upon registration?

Please allow up to 7 working days for this service to be activated. A notification will be sent to your registered email address upon confirmation of your account activation. You should remove your CashCard and start using the MotorPay service only after you receive the email confirmation.

How many vehicles can I register for this service?

You can register up to 2 vehicles per Telemoney account. The 2 vehicles can be registered using the same or different Credit Card/Debit Card. However, each Credit Card/Debit Card cannot be used for more than one Telemoney account.

Can I use my Credit Card/Debit Card to pay for vehicles registered under my family members?

Yes.

Using MotorPay

I have successfully registered for MotorPay service but why is there a beeping sound when I pass through an ERP gantry without my CashCard inserted into the IU?

Upon successful application of MotorPay service, it is normal for the IU to make a beeping sound when passing through the ERP gantry even when the CashCard is not inserted into the IU. Hence, the ERP charges will be charged to your Credit Card registered at MotorPay.

Termination

Under what circumstances, will my MotorPay service be terminated?

Your MotorPay service will be terminated immediately if your card is terminated or when MotorPay cannot authorise your card for earmarking or any other charges. You will be notified by email.

What do I do if I lose my Credit Card/Debit Card or if my card is cancelled or terminated?

Please immediately terminate your MotorPay service at the MotorPay website. Re-insert your CashCard with sufficient value into your IU.

What do I do when I receive my replacement card?

Please go to MotorPay website to re-register for your MotorPay service.

What do I do if my Credit Card/Debit Card is blocked by my issuing bank?

Please terminate your MotorPay service at the MotorPay website immediately. Re-insert your CashCard with sufficient amount into your IU.

Please note that until your MotorPay service is terminated, all charges incurred will continue to be payable by you.

What happens if I want to change my Credit Card/Debit Card?

If you wish to change your Credit Card/ Debit Card details, you can now update your Credit Card/ Debit Card details by logging on to MotorPay at www.motorpay.com.sg. Simply update your new Credit Card/ Debit Card details by selecting "Update Credit Card". Kindly ensure that all information supplied is correct including the expiry date and CVV numbers submitted. The update will be immediate and your motorpay account will be automatically linked to the new credit card/ debit card for the ERP charges.

How will the MotorPay service be reflected in my Credit Card statement?

MotorPay Service will be reflected in your Credit Card/Debit Card statement as:

  • "MotorPay-ERP Charges" for your ERP transactions
  • "MotorPay-Subscription fee" for your MotorPay monthly subscription

When will my ERP Charges be reflected in my Credit Card?

The ERP charges will be accumulated and charged weekly to your Credit Card.

Checking of Information

Where can I check for the details of my ERP charges?

You can log on to MotorPay website with your Mobile Number and PIN to check your detailed charges. Charges will usually be posted online by the next day.

How far back can I view my transaction details?

You can view your ERP transaction history for up to 6 months.

Termination of Service

What happens if I would like to sell my vehicle?

Please terminate your MotorPay service in advance at the MotorPay website, and allow 7 working days notice for termination to be effective.

How do I cancel this service?

You can log on to MotorPay website to terminate this service and allow up to 7 working days for the termination to be effective. Kindly re-insert your CashCard with sufficient amount into your IU to pay for all applicable ERP charges.

Amendments to Vehicle or IU Number

What happens if I change my IU or vehicle number?

You will receive an email notification from MotorPay to update your vehicle information in about 7 working days. Please login to the MotorPay website to update the particulars.

Note: Your MotorPay service will not be affected.

Others

Will I still earn rewards points with my registered Credit Card?

Please check with your issuing bank.

What should I do if I have changed my mobile number which I used for MotorPay login?

Please fax to (6392 2242 ) or email ([email protected]) the following items for our verification:

  • Front and back copy your registered NRIC
  • Registered vehicle number

Who can I contact to make enquiries (including registration status, termination, payment, refunds etc..) for this service?

You can contact us at [email protected]. For support issues, please include your vehicle number, name and mobile number.

For any Credit/Debit Card enquiries, please contact your issuing bank.

Browser Issues

Why do I get a blank page when I click on the 'Register' button?

If you are using IE 6 as your default browser, you may encounter a blank page when trying to register for the MotorPay Service.

Simply refresh the page, and you should be able to continue with the registration.

If the problem persists, please double-click on the padlock icon located on the bottom right of your browser. Select 'Install Certificate' in the Certificate window prompt, then please wait for the system to complete the manual installation of the certificate. Once done, click 'OK' and the page will appear for you to continue with your registration.
