Eligibility
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old and a Singapore Resident.
  • Insured children must be aged between 8 days and 17 years old.
  • All insured persons must be Singapore Residents.
  • The policy has to be purchased before the trip commences.

How to claim
  • To avoid delay and to ensure your claim is handled promptly and efficiently, please submit your claims within one month after you return to Singapore.

COVID-19
  • Does my policy cover me for claims not related to COVID-19?
    Cover may still be available for claims not related to COVID-19, if your policy is purchased:
    • On or after 16 October 2020 subject to all policy terms, conditions and exclusions; or
    • Before 16 October 2020 if the travel adhered to the MOH updates on Border and Community Measures*, subject to all policy terms, conditions and exclusions.
    Under both circumstances, there is no cover for claims relating to COVID-19.

    Your policy is purchased on 16 October 2020. Your trip was later cancelled due to hospitalisation due to an accidental injury and not relating to COVID-19.

    Your Chubb travel policy will respond to your claim.
    Your policy is purchased on 16 October 2020. Your trip was later cancelled as you/your travel companion was issued a COVID-19 stay home notice by the authorities.

    Your Chubb travel policy will not respond to this claim.
  • If I was denied entry due to border closure at the overseas destination, will I be covered?
    No, Chubb’s policy will not respond as border closure is not within scope of coverage under the policy.
  • Does my policy cover me for claims not related to COVID-19 if I still proceed with my trip after a travel advisory has been issued about travel to my destination?
    For travel advisories related to COVID-19, you are covered if your policy is purchased:
    • On or after 16 October 2020 subject to all policy terms, conditions and exclusions; or
    • Before 16 October 2020 if the travel adhered to the MOH updates on Border and Community Measures*, subject to all policy terms, conditions and exclusions.
    Under both circumstances, there is no cover for claims relating to COVID-19.
    For travel advisories not related to COVID-19, cover may be restricted or limited depending on the nature of the advisory.
  • Does my policy cover me if I am currently overseas?
    Yes, you are covered if your policy is purchased before the commencement of your trip and is:
    • On or after 16 October 2020; or
    • Before 16 October 2020 if the travel adhered to the MOH updates on Border and Community Measures*, subject to all policy terms, conditions and exclusions. However, all COVID-19 related claims will still be excluded under your policy.

*Travel Advisory (updated 1 Oct 2020)
Singaporeans and residents of Singapore may travel overseas:
  • To Australia (excluding Victoria State), Brunei Darussalam and New Zealand and Vietnam;
  • If they are students pursuing academic qualification overseas, and where distance-learning is not offered as an option by the education institution [1]; or
  • For essential travel for business, official and work purposes under Green/Fast Lane arrangements and the Periodic Commuting Arrangement.
[1] Overseas studies should be of at least one academic year, for courses which require physical presence in the foreign educational institution, and which will lead to attainment of academic qualifications. Existing students who are completing such academic programs (i.e. balance duration of less than an academic year) are included. Students below the age of 18 may be accompanied by an adult. Mature students may travel overseas with their dependents who will be residing with them for the duration of their studies.

  • Who can buy myTravel Protect Policy?
    Customers aged 18 and years and above who are Singapore Residents.
  • Who is considered a Singapore Resident?
    Singapore Resident means a Singapore citizen, Singapore permanent resident, a holder of a valid work permit, employment pass, dependant’s pass, long-term visit pass, S pass or student pass upon commencement of any journey.
  • When can I apply for myTravel Protect Policy?
    You can apply for myTravel Protect Policy if your departure date is within 180 days from the date of application.
  • How do I select the region if I am travelling to more than one country?
    Simply select all the countries you will visit on the online application form.
    For example, if you are travelling to Thailand, Hong Kong SAR and the USA, just select all 3 countries in the ‘Destination’ option. The website will auto detect the USA as the farthest country and premium quoted for Region 4 will be shown.
    • Region 1: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
    • Region 2: China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Timor-Leste and including Region 1.
    • Region 3: Worldwide including Nepal, Tibet, Region 1 and 2 but excluding Cuba, USA and Canada.
    • Region 4: Worldwide excluding Cuba.
  • When does the cover commence and end for each trip?
    Cover starts from the time you leave your place of residence in Singapore to go directly to the departure point or three hours before the scheduled departure time of the carrier in which you have arranged to travel, whichever is later. Cover shall end at the time you return to your place of residence in Singapore, three hours after the scheduled arrival time of the carrier in which you travel or the date on which the policy is terminated, whichever is earlier.
  • Are leisure adventurous activities such as winter sports, snorkelling and hot air ballooning covered?
    Yes, myTravel Protect covers leisure adventurous activities such as bungee jumping, sky diving, paragliding, helicopter rides for sightseeing, hot air ballooning, jet skiing, mountain trekking at mountains below the height of 3,000 metres above sea level, skiing or snowboarding within official approved areas of a ski resort, canoeing or white water rafting with a qualified guide and below Grade 4 (of International Scale of River Difficulty), and underwater activities involving artificial breathing apparatus for diving (up to a maximum depth of 30 metres with a qualified diving instructor or a qualified divemaster and with recognised diving certification). These activities must be done for leisure purposes and with a licensed operator.
  • Are tele-medicine expenses covered?
    Yes, tele-medicine expenses incurred overseas and/or Singapore is covered. Tele-medicine providers must be approved by Ministry of Health and medical practitioners must be legally licensed pursuant to the laws of the country in which such practice is maintained.
  • In the event if I fall sick during the trip, can I claim for the medication purchased from the pharmacy using the prescription of the tele-medicine provider?
    Yes, you may submit the pharmacy receipts and prescription to Chubb for medical expenses claims. The tele-medicine providers must be approved by Ministry of Health.
  • Will I receive any refund of premium if I cancel my policy?
    There will be no refunds of the premium once the Certificate of Insurance is issued.
  • Does this policy have any other exclusions?
    Yes, exclusions include:
    • Any loss or expenses which arise in connection with or contributed by you undertaking any trip against travel advice (including non-essential travel) by the local authorities.
    • Any government prohibition, regulation or intervention.
    • Claims of any kind directly or indirectly arising from, relating to or in any way connected with the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) (or any mutation or variation thereof or any related strain) and/or its outbreak.

  • When will I receive my policy?
    You will receive your policy via email upon successful online application.
