myHome Protect is underwritten by Chubb Insurance Singapore Limited.

  • Get up to S$320,000 coverage against loss of or damage to home contents and renovations
  • Reimbursement of up to S$32,000 for alternative accommodation or loss of rent
  • Be insured up to S$1,000,000 for worldwide personal liability cover for the household
  • Receive 25% refund of premiums paid (excluding GST) at the end of every 12 consecutive months if you remain claim-free

We will not pay for:

  1. More than 30% of the Sum Insured on Contents in the aggregate in respect of Valuables. “Valuables” means jewellery, watches, furs, curios, works of art, antiques, stamps or coins collections and other collectable property, manuscripts, medals, items of gold, silver or other precious metals/precious stones.
  2. More than 5% of the Sum Insured on Contents for any one article except furniture, personal computers, audio and video equipment, pianos or organs.
  3. Loss of or damage to the renovations and contents while your Premises is unoccupied for more than 60 consecutive days.

  1. I am currently renting a residential home. Can I buy myHome Protect?

    Yes. In your capacity as a Tenant, myHome Protect provides coverage for your contents and personal belongings as well as those owned by your family members living in the same Premises.

  2. Is purchasing myHome Protect necessary since I have been insured under a fire insurance policy when I took up my mortgage loan?
    • A typical mortgage fire insurance policy generally provides coverage only for the Building structure and in certain cases a low amount of contents coverage.
    • myHome Protect is a home contents insurance policy offering coverage for renovations and contents.
  3. Is there a need for me to provide a detailed listing of the contents in my Premises?

    No. You will need to choose the plan with the Sum Insured that represents the full value (as new) of your Contents and Renovations (including those of your family members residing with you).

  4. If I am moving, what should I do as an Insured of myHome Protect?

    Please update Chubb of your new home address as soon as possible and ensure that the coverage on your existing plan is adequate for the new Premises.

  5. Under myHome Protect, what coverage is provided for my Renovations?

    There is coverage for loss or damage to the improvement and additions within your Premises made by you as owner or by any former owner of your Premises in the form of fixtures and fittings (including flooring, built-in wardrobes and air-conditioners), but does not include any part of the Building structure.

  6. I understand that there is a 25% No Claim Bonus offered under myHome Protect. Do I enjoy this benefit every year?

    You will continue to enjoy a No Claim Bonus of 25% so long the monthly or yearly premiums are paid as and when due. In addition, you will also need to remain claim-free during the annual period of insurance. Should there be a claim for an event in that policy year, the No Claim Bonus will not apply for that policy year but will resume in the following annual period of insurance provided there is no claim for an event in the following policy year.

  7. What is an Excess?

    An Excess is the first amount of any claim that you have to bear.

    For example:

    Mary had her home contents damaged due to the bursting of water pipes. The claim amount is S$2,500.

    • Excess amount is S$100.
    • Claim payout is S$2,400 after deducting the Excess of S$100.
  8. How do I make a claim?
