Ms Tan Su Shan joined DBS in 2010 as Group Head of Wealth Management. In 2014, she became the first Singaporean to be recognised as the world’s ‘Best Leader in Private Banking’ by PWM/The Banker. The year before, she was the first Asian to be named ‘Outstanding Private Banker of the Year’ by Private Banker International.
Prior to DBS, Su Shan has held regional leadership positions in Morgan Stanley and Citi Private Bank, with 8 years at ING Baring Securities in institutional equity sales, working in the key financial hubs of London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Beyond banking, Su Shan also served as a Nominated Member of Parliament from 2012 to 2014.
Lawrence Lua joined DBS in 2011. As Deputy Head of DBS Private Bank, he is instrumental in the transformation of the Private Banking business.
With over 35 years in banking, Lawrence has held senior appointments in various foreign banks including Citi Private Bank. A seasoned banker with very easy-going personality and people-oriented approach, Lawrence is also the Chairman of the IBF Private Banking Industry Workgroup and a member of the IBF Standards Committee.
In addition, Lawrence has served in various communities and not-for-profit organisations and is currently the founding Chairman of Sparkletots Child Development Centre (Telok Blangah).
Since 2016, Joseph has led the team for Southeast Asia for DBS Private Bank. He brings over 20 years of experience to the table, including heading up the Ultra High Net Worth segment and Global Family Office for UBS in Southeast Asia.
Joseph was also the Head of Co-Investments & Private Equity, and a Member of Julius Baer’s Asia Management Committee. Prior to Julius Baer, he was the Asia Head of Macquarie’s Private Wealth business, which he had established. Before joining Macquarie Private Bank, he was the Head of J.P. Morgan Private Bank, Southeast Asia.
Mr Tjandra Januar Jun joined DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited as North Asia Head of Private Banking in August 2013. He is now managing and developing DBS’ private banking business in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and Taiwan.
Prior to joining DBS, Januar was a Managing Director for Barclays Wealth in Hong Kong, where he was Head of Greater China. He also spent 16 years with Goldman Sachs, most recently as Executive Director of the Investment Management Division. Januar started his banking career in fixed income sales in Taiwan.
Rob Ioannou joined DBS Private Bank in July 2016, and is responsible for the Global South Asia and Non Resident Indian teams, the Europe, Middle East and Africa geographies, as well as the Japan International segment.
A career private banker with over 20 years of financial services experience, Rob started at Citibank N.A. in London, before moving to J.P. Morgan as a senior coverage private banker. His experience includes 13 years in leadership positions at HSBC Private Bank in Singapore and London.
V Arivazhagan became the COO of the Consumer Banking & Wealth Management Group in August 2014. He is responsible for implementing key business and operational strategies, and developing a leading, integrated client experience across the bank’s retail and wealth segments. Previously Head of Regional Investment and Treasury Products for the Consumer Banking Group, V Arivazhagan originated and marketed product solutions to fit the needs and risk profiles of DBS clients.
Prior to joining the Consumer Banking Group in 2009, Ari was the Investment Product Head for DBS Bank Ltd's Private Bank in Hong Kong. Ari began his career with DBS Bank Ltd in 1988, providing advice on Treasury and Markets solutions to corporations and financial institutions.
Lim Soon Chong is Regional Head of Investment Products & Advisory, Consumer Banking Group & Wealth Management, overseeing Investment Counselling, Investment & Treasury Product teams across various asset classes, Direct Market Access/Dealing functions and Discretionary Portfolio Management. Prior to this, Soon Chong headed the Regional Balance Sheet Management function within DBS Corporate Treasury with responsibilities that included Group Asset & Liability Composition, Liquidity Transfer Pricing, Term Wholesale Funding and Structural Portfolio Management.
Soon Chong joined DBS in 2006 in the Risk Management Department, from the Monetary Authority of Singapore with experience in areas including Bank Capital & Prudential Policy, Macroeconomic Surveillance, Monetary Policy Research and International Financial Cooperation.
Peter joined DBS in April 2012 as Head of International Clients and Wealth Structuring. He is currently the Head of Regional Wealth Planning for DBS Private Bank.
In a career spanning more than 30 years, Peter has been Deputy CEO at Bank of China (Suisse) SA in Geneva, and spent 19 years with Citi Private Bank, in senior trust and private bank leadership roles in Jersey, London, Geneva, Zurich and Singapore. With a previous background as a chartered accountant and tax adviser with Deloitte in London, Peter has advised wealthy families in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and dealt with the complexities of international laws, regulations and taxes.
Peter believes in the human side of wealth management – how clients’ decisions impact the preservation and protection of their wealth during their working lives as well as their old age, and how it impacts their children, grandchildren, society and their overall legacy. He believes that the ultimate value of wealth is found in giving it meaning.
Prior to this, Peter was a Tax Principal for Deloitte in their London office. He has over twenty years of experience in dealing with private clients across the globe in tax and trust matters.
