Connect with Asia’s brightest business minds for insights and advice with the DBS BusinessClass app.
Besides capital, the most valuable assets a business owner can have are advice from those who have done it all. And opportunities from uncharted territories. Now, SME leaders can get them both with DBS BusinessClass – a new mobile app specially designed for entrepreneurs and their businesses.
Through DBS BusinessClass, users can consult and connect with industry experts, investors and fellow entrepreneurs. They can also enjoy news and articles relevant to the art of running a business, as well as exclusive invites to networking events.
“We found that fast-growing SMEs need help connecting with investors and experts when they are scaling up their business,” Lim Chu Chong, Head of SME Banking, DBS Bank explains.
“By building a mobile platform which allows SMEs to access business advice, insights and exclusive networking opportunities, we hope to help SME owners build social capital and sharpen their competitive edge.”
To this end, more than 20 business experts, seasoned entrepreneurs and investors have been invited to join the DBS BusinessClass panel of advisors, with more expecting to come onboard in the coming months. View the full list of Advisors here.
The app lets users reach out to any advisor simply by sending them a chat message. Whether it’s a burning question they have, or an issue they’ve been grappling with in their business, anyone can start a topic, tag the relevant advisors and begin an online discussion anytime, anywhere.
App users can also join by-invite-only roundtables and seminars where investors, entrepreneurs and industry experts come together to debate and discuss the latest challenges faced by start-ups and SMEs.
Key learnings from each session will be distilled and published on the DBS BusinessClass app, making it easy for users to access business knowledge and to share it around.
Another value-added feature of DBS BusinessClass is the ability to connect instantly to the bank’s relationship managers through the app’s chat functions. This brings start-ups and SMEs even closer to their banking partner, getting banking queries answered on the go.
Essential business tools are built into the function too. These include a loan calculator that calculates monthly instalments and interest for a variety of business loans, a working capital tool that works out a business’s cash conversion cycles instantly, and tips on how to obtain more operating cash flow.
DBS BusinessClass users will enjoy curated news and articles every day, so they get first dibs on happenings that impact their businesses. All in the name of keeping their toes in the game in the fast-paced world of business.
There are plans to roll out the app regionally, so entrepreneurs can also meet other SME owners from DBS’s other key markets in China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
