How Does the TravelLah! Debit Card Work?

The DBS TravelLah! Debit Card is designed to simplify overseas spending by removing the need to pre-convert currencies or manage multiple foreign currency balances.

Here's how it works:

Step 1: Top Up Your TravelLah! Debit Card Wallet
Before spending, you'll need to transfer funds into your TravelLah! Debit Card Wallet through the DBS PayLah! app. You can top up your wallet from your linked DBS/POSB account or available PayLah! balance.

Step 2: Pay with Your TravelLah! Debit Card
Use your card anywhere Visa is accepted, whether you're shopping in Singapore, dining in Tokyo, taking the MRT in Bangkok, or booking activities online.

Step 3: Transactions Are Automatically Converted
When you make an overseas purchase, the foreign currency amount is automatically converted and charged in SGD using Visa exchange rates, with no exchange-rate mark-up.

Step 4: Track Your Spending
All TravelLah! Debit Card transactions can be viewed directly within the DBS PayLah! app, making it easy to monitor your travel budget and spending history.

Is the DBS TravelLah! Debit Card a Multi-Currency Card?

The DBS TravelLah! Debit Card wallet holds funds in SGD only, and you cannot pre-convert or store foreign currencies. When you spend overseas, the foreign-currency amount is automatically converted into SGD using Visa exchange rates, with no exchange-rate mark-up.

Why Use the DBS TravelLah! Debit Card for Overseas Spending?

Save on Overseas Spending with 0 FX Fees and Competitive FX Rates

When you use a traditional debit or credit card overseas, foreign currency transaction fees may be added to your purchases. With the DBS TravelLah! Debit Card, these FX fees are waived, helping you avoid additional charges on your overseas spend. Plus, all foreign currency transactions are charged with competitive FX rates without any mark-ups. Simply top up your TravelLah! Debit Card Wallet in SGD and your overseas purchases are automatically converted when you spend. By removing FX fees and foreign currency mark-ups, the TravelLah! Debit Card helps travellers keep more of their travel budget for the things that matter most, from meals and attractions to memorable experiences overseas.

Access Cash Overseas without ATM withdrawal fees

While many travellers prefer cashless payments, there are still situations where cash is useful, such as shopping at local markets, paying smaller merchants or travelling to destinations where cash remains widely used.
With the DBS TravelLah! Debit Card, overseas ATM withdrawal fees charged by DBS are waived, giving you added flexibility when you need access to cash abroad. Unlike many travel cards that charge overseas ATM fees or limit fee-free ATM withdrawals, DBS TravelLah! does not impose ATM withdrawal fees and does not cap the number or value of withdrawals. This provides added flexibility for travellers visiting destinations where cash is still commonly used.

Note: Overseas operator may still charge a fee for ATM withdrawals.

Stay in Control with a Dedicated Travel Wallet

The dedicated TravelLah! Debit Card Wallet in DBS PayLah! lets you set aside an SGD travel budget, keep overseas spending separate from everyday finances and monitor card transactions in one place.
