Enable/Disable Card For Overseas Use

Learn how to enable / disable your card's overseas usage easily.

digibank Mobile
  • Log in to digibank Mobile with your User ID and PIN.
  • Select Card Services from the menu.
  • Click Allow Card’s Magnetic Stripe for Overseas Use.
  • Log in with your 6-Digit iB Secure PIN.
  • Select the Card Account from the Card Selection List.
  • Amend the status of the overseas function of your Card's Magnetic Stripe to your preference.
  • Provide Authorization and click Next.
  • Verify the Details of the Transaction and click Confirm.
Please note that this service is currently unavailable to DBS UnionPay Debit Cards and POSB UnionPay ATM Cards.

Note: The risk of unauthorised transactions occurring on the Card is higher when the magnetic stripe is enabled for overseas use, as the magnetic stripe information can be easily copied.

DBS Lifestyle App
Enjoy greater card security with location-based auto activation of your Card’s Magnetic Stripe for overseas usage.
Set up this feature once via DBS Lifestyle app to ensure your selected cards are automatically activated when you travel, and deactivated when you are home.
  • Log in to DBS Lifestyle app with your digibank User ID and PIN.
  • Select More from the menu bar, then select Card Services.
  • Select Activate Card For Overseas Use.
  • Turn on the toggle for Auto Activate/Deactivate. You will be prompted to turn on Location Services for DBS Lifestyle app.
  • Select the Card(s) you wish to enable for overseas use.
  • Select < on the top left corner and your setting will be saved.

Note: This service will be able to detect your phone’s location and automatically turn the magnetic stripe on and off accordingly, providing convenience for your travel, greater peace of mind and added security for your future Card transactions.

digibank Online
  • Log in to digibank Online with your User ID and Password.
  • Select Cards and click on Activate Card’s Magnetic Stripe for Overseas Use.
  • Log in with your 6-Digit iB Secure PIN.
  • Select the Card Account from the Card Selection List
  • Amend the status of the overseas function of your Card's Magnetic Stripe to your preference.
  • Click Submit followed by Confirm to proceed.

DBS/POSB ATM in Singapore
  • Insert your DBS Debit Card to access your account
  • Key in your PIN
  • Select More Services
  • Select Card’s Magnetic Stripe for Overseas Use
  • Select Continue
  • Amend status of the overseas function of your Card's magnetic stripe to your preference
  • Follow instructions on the ATM screen to complete Submission
