What are the different modes to settle my trades?
You may select either Cash, Cash Upfront, CPF or SRS as your settlement mode. Cash and Cash Upfront trades will be settled using your Multi-Currency Account (MCA). CPF and/or SRS mode will only be available if your DBS Vickers online trading account is linked to your CPF and/or SRS account and that the counter is available for CPF/SRS settlement.
What markets can I trade using Cash and Cash Upfront as my settlement mode?
You can trade in all 7 online markets, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and US market.
What is the difference between settling my trades using Cash and Cash Upfront mode?

For Cash Buy trades, the funds will be debited from your Multi-Currency Account (MCA). on the date of settlement. Customers will need to ensure that there are sufficient funds in the traded currency in their MCA account on the settlement date.

For Cash Upfront Buy trades, the funds in the respective traded currency needs to be available in your MCA account prior to placing the buy order. The funds will be earmarked in accordance to the contract size of the trade plus charges. You will also enjoy a preferential commission rate when you settle your trades using Cash Upfront.

Can I sell my shares using Cash Upfront settlement mode?
Cash Upfront settlement mode is applicable to BUY trades only.
If I do not have sufficient funds in the relevant currency to trade foreign markets, can I do a fund conversion?

For Cash trades, you may perform fund conversion via your MCA account in DBS/POSB iBanking. Funds will be debited from your MCA account on the date of settlement. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in the traded currency in your MCA wallet on settlement date.

For Cash Upfront trades, you may perform fund conversion via your MCA account in DBS/POSB iBanking. Funds will be earmarked in accordance to the contract size of the trade plus charges on trade date, and debited from your MCA account on settlement date. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in the traded currency in your MCA wallet before placing a trade.

Can I do contra trading on trades settled using Cash Upfront?
No, contra trading is not allowed for Cash Upfront settlement mode.

Can I choose to settle my trades using GIRO/EPS if my DBS Vickers account is opened after 15 January 2018?
With effect from 15 January 2018, GIRO/EPS payment mode will no longer be available for new individual DBS Vickers online trading accounts. It is mandatory for all new individual DBS Vickers customers to link their online trading account to a DBS Multi-Currency Account.
What are the settlement dates for the payment and sales of my trades?

Funds will be debited from / credited to your MCA on settlement day + 1 market day.

Will I receive a notification if I have insufficient funds in my Multi-Currency Account (MCA) in the traded currency to settle my trades?

Yes, you will receive an SMS notification alert on the settlement date to inform you of the shortfall of funds in your MCA account.

Please note that if there are insufficient funds in your MCA in the required traded currency, conversion of funds in other available currencies to settle the trades and/or force selling might take place.

Is there a cut-off time for fund conversion?
Fund conversion is available every day except from 5am - 6am daily and on the last working day of the month in which service will end at 8pm. Click here to find out more about the Multi-Currency Account (MCA).
Am I able to switch from one MCA to another MCA to settle my trades?

To make a switch, please log in to DBS/POSB iBanking, select Invest > DBS Vickers Online Trading. Go to Account Management and click on Switch/Link Existing MCA.

Note: Please ensure you have no outstanding Cash upfront orders/contracts when performing the switch.
