Before You Transfer

Why should I transfer my shares from CDP to DBS Treasures?

You gain a consolidated portfolio view, bank-level custodial security, and seamless integration with your trading and investment accounts — all accessible in one app.

What do I need before submitting a transfer request?

You will need:

A DBS Treasures Wealth Management Account (WMA)
Your CDP account number
The stock code(s) and quantity of shares you wish to transfer.

I don’t have a Wealth Management Account. How can I open one?

You can apply for a Wealth Management Account through digibank or speak to your Relationship Manager for assistance.

Why is my Wealth Management Account not eligible for a CDP transfer?

Joint-All WMA Accounts are currently not supported for digital CDP transfers. If required, do contact your Relationship Manager for assistance in setting up a new account.

Making the Transfer

Can I transfer only a portion of my CDP-custodised shares over?

Yes. You can choose which shares and the quantity you wish to transfer when submitting your request through digibank.

Tip: We recommend the option of transferring your full holdings into your Wealth Management Account for a seamless and comprehensive overview of your investments.

What is the maximum number of securities I can transfer?

There is no overall limit. However, each transfer request submitted through digibank can include up to 10 securities.

What are the supported account combinations for the CDP transfers?

Supported Transfers:

From CDP (Single) to DBS account (Single):
This applies to accounts owned by one individual (e.g. John to John).
From CDP (Joint Alternate) to DBS account (Joint Alternate):
This applies to joint accounts where either owner can operate the account (e.g. John or Jane to John or Jane).

Will a “Change in beneficial owner” transfer type be supported?

Yes. This type of transfer is only available offline. You will need to fill up the hardcopy CDP 4.2 form (Request for Transfer of Securities) and a copy of your Identification Card (IC) or passport. For more information, please reach out to your Relationship Manager to assist you.

Fees and Charges

What are the fee charges for CDP Transfer?

The transfer itself is complimentary for a limited period. Custody fees for SGX-listed stocks held with DBS is waived. However, custody fees for other equity markets or products still apply.

After the Transfer

How long will the transfer take?

The transfer of securities from your CDP account to your Wealth Management Account with DBS will take on average between 3 and 5 working days. If you are initiating the transfer of securities using the hardcopy CDP 4.2 form (Request for Transfer of Securities), it will take on average between 5 and 7 working days.

How can I check the status of my CDP transfer?

You will receive a notification from CDP via email or the CDP Portal’s Notification Inbox that the securities are successfully transferred. Alternatively, you can check for the progress of your transfer via digibank.

Do I need to transfer my shares back to CDP before selling them?

No. Once your shares are held in custody with DBS, you can trade them directly through your Wealth Management Account.

Do I lose my CDP account or shareholder rights?

No. Your CDP account remains active, and you continue to retain all shareholder rights, including dividends, AGM voting, and rights issues — these are administered by the bank on your behalf.

What are the potential changes in the corporate actions of my listed shares when I transfer them to DBS?

DBS will handle the corporate actions of your listed shares and you may directly submit your corporate action online via digibank Mobile or Internet Banking.

Can I change the transfer from Market Price to Cost Price?

When you initiate a transfer of your securities via digibank, they will be transferred at market price. Once your securities have been transferred from CDP to DBS, you will need to reach out to your Relationship Manager, who will be happy to assist you with this request.

Am I eligible for the current offer if I took part in an earlier Asset Transfer-in Campaign in 2026?

Clients who participated in the Asset Transfer-in Campaign from 1 July 2026 to 31 August 2026 and receive S$500 Retirement digiPortfolio credits by 31 October 2026 are not eligible to participate in this offer.

What are the terms and conditions governing the Asset Transfer-in Campaign that ran from 1 July to 31 August 2026?

Security and Privacy

Is my data safe? Will the bank have access to all my CDP holdings?

Your data is protected under MAS regulations and the bank's data governance framework. We are only allowed to access what is needed to facilitate the transfer, with your explicit consent.

Why do I not see any stock holdings in my CDP account after logging in to the SGX Investor Portal using Singpass?

If your SGX-listed stocks do not show in your CDP account, a bank or broker likely holds them in a custodial account for you instead. CPFIA and SRS investments do not appear in your CDP account.

What are the prerequisite requirements prior to the CDP transfer?

You will need to have a Wealth Management Account (WMA) and your CDP account number.
