Singapore Business Federation Outlook 2023

At a Glance

Challenges such as the war in Ukraine, slowing down of economy in China, disruptions in supply chains and high inflationary pressures have resulted in an overall weakening in the global economy. With economies slowing, interest rate rising, energy costs soaring and recession looming in major economies, the outlook ahead points to an uncertain one.

What will 2023 holds for businesses in Singapore as economies globally and in the region grapple with the on-going challenges, uncertainties and headwinds? With global growth projected to slow to 2.7% in 2023 by the International Monetary Fund, Singapore businesses must look for the bright spots and capture emerging opportunities to sustain broad-based growth in our maturing economy with ageing population and labour force shortage.
