DBS SME Skills Booster Programme

Grow your employees’ capabilities through our recommended training courses

At a glance

50% of all employees need reskilling by 2025, and 40% of a current worker’s core skills are expected to change in the next 5 years. This gap between jobs and skills will continue to widen as businesses transition into the digital and green economy.

To help SMEs future-proof their workforce, DBS has partnered SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to launch the DBS SME Skills Booster Programme. With resources from SSG and DBS BusinessClass Academy, DBS aims to help SMEs improve productivity and efficiency by creating a learning and development (L&D) plan that is aligned with their business aspirations.

Through the programme, SME employees can hone their skills and capabilities in areas such as digital and transformation, sustainability, banking and finance, and cyberwellness.

FAQs
Why should I sign my employees up for training?

Labour market reports and trends have indicated that technology adoption and automation are on the rise, leading to redundant roles, skills gaps, and a shrinking window of opportunity to reskill. While these challenges are concerning, it also presents opportunities for employers to recognise the value of human capital investment.

In addition, there are many other reasons to invest in employees by upskilling them. These include:

  1. Talent retention and boosting employee morale
  2. Reducing cost of recruitment
  3. Improving efficiency and productivity
  4. Creating a culture of learning
  5. Increasing profit margins
What is the duration of the training programme?

The duration of training programmes will vary based on the training providers and topics. To kick things off, we will be focusing on workshops that last between three to five days to minimise disruption to your business operations.

How much will this programme cost?

The programme is free – your organisation will only have to cover the cost of the training programme/s. As we are matching you to SSG-accredited training providers, most (if not, all) of the courses are heavily subsidised for Singapore businesses. You can also enjoy training incentives when you enrol in courses.

Can I explore more than one pillar under the DBS SME Skills Booster Programme?

Yes, we recommend SMEs to explore other core pillars with us.

How can I get started on the programme?

We recommend working with your organisation’s HR, project manager or administrator so we can better facilitate discussions and enrolment.
