*Terms & Conditions for 1-Day Express Account Opening:

  1. This service is currently only applicable to Singapore registered Sole Proprietorships owned by an individual or Singapore incorporated companies with one director who is also the only shareholder and authorised signatory. This individual must be a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident and have an existing active DBS/POSB personal bank account.
  2. The details of the company must be retrieved from ACRA on step 2 of the application.
  3. Accounts will be opened the next working day (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) for applications submitted before 2pm on a working day.
  4. Applications made through this service are subject to approval by DBS.

Depending on your business structure, we would need to speak to:

  • Sole Proprietorship – the sole proprietor
  • Partnership/Limited Liability Partnership – all partners
  • Private/Limited Company – 1 director

To qualify for the DBS Educator’s Account, your organisation must be in the business of providing education, enrichment or corporate training services. Examples of such organizations :

  • Preschool - Infant Care, Child Care, Kindergartens
  • Tertiary – Private Education Institutions, International Schools, Preparatory & Boarding Schools
  • Primary & Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges
  • Enrichment &Tutorial Centres, Corporate Training & Executive Education


1. I am unable to find my company on the ‘2. ACRA Details’ step in the online application form. Why?

Try keying in your company name without ‘Pte Ltd’, etc. and you should be able to locate your company. Please note that if the company is newly registered, it will take 2 working days before your company details can be retrieved.

2. What documents am I required to submit and when do I need to submit them?

No documents are needed for applicants who meet our 1-Day Express account opening criteria.

For all other applicants, click here for our checklist. You are only required to submit the documents after the application has been submitted online. We will arrange for a courier to pick up your documents if you had opted for a Relationship Manager to call you. For branch appointments, kindly bring the documents along with you.

3. How do I switch from my existing bank to DBS?

Switching to us will be a hassle-free process. We have put together a list of where you can find the commonly used GIRO authorisation forms for your perusal:

4. What currencies are available for the DBS Educator's Account?
