Frequently asked questions
Can you get a business loan without collateral in Singapore?

Yes. No physical collateral is required for the DBS SME Working Capital Loan and Business Term Loan. However, guarantor(s) are required, subject to DBS’ prevailing requirements and assessment.

For the Enterprise Financing Scheme – Green, collateral and guarantee requirements depend on the facility type, approved structure and DBS’ assessment.

How long does approval usually take for a business loan?
Approval timelines can vary depending on the loan type, application completeness, and whether additional information is required. If you have a DBS Corporate account, you can apply online in 5 minutes and track your application status after submission on DBS IDEAL.
What should you compare besides interest rates?

Consider the following when comparing business loans:

  • Purpose of the loan
  • Maximum loan amount
  • Repayment tenure and structure
  • Total interest and applicable fees
  • Eligibility requirements
  • Collateral and guarantor requirements

The right option should suit your funding purpose, cash-flow needs and ability to meet the repayments, rather than simply offer the lowest interest rate.

What documents do I need to prepare?

When you apply using ACRA or MyInfo Business, DBS can retrieve most of the required business information, which may reduce the number of supporting documents needed.

For eligible new DBS borrowers applying for up to S$50,000, no financial documents are required. Depending on your application, DBS may request additional information, such as:

  • Latest two years’ financial statements
  • Latest three months’ bank statements

Bank statements may not be required if DBS is your main operating bank. All document requirements remain subject to the applicant’s profile and DBS’ assessment.
