What is Woman's Care Insurance?
It is a critical illness insurance plan which provides a lump sum payment to the insured in the event of a diagnosis of a Female Cancer or Major Cancer.
Who can apply for this Policy?
This Policy is designed exclusively for DBS female customers (including foreigners) who are aged between 18 and below 60 and residing in Singapore.
What does the Female Cancer benefit cover?
It covers Cancer of the breast and Cancer of the female reproductive organs - Cervix, Uterus, Fallopian Tube, Vulva/Vagina, Ovary. Please refer to the Woman's Care Insurance Policy for the complete list and definition of Female Cancer.
What is Major Cancer?
A malignant tumour positively diagnosed with histological confirmation and characterized by the uncontrolled growth of malignant cells with invasion and destruction of normal tissue. Please refer to Policy wordings for more details on Major Cancer and its exclusions.
When will the benefit amount be paid out?
The benefit amount will be paid to the Insured according to the terms, conditions and exceptions of this policy upon the first diagnosis of any of the Cancer covered during the period of insurance.
Can I claim for both Female Cancer and Major Cancer?
No, your Policy will be terminated upon payment of either one of the benefits.
What is a waiting period?
Waiting period is the period of time from the commencement date, or the reinstatement date, whichever is later for the Insured where no claim can be made in respect of any cancer diagnosed within the applicable waiting period.
Is there a waiting period for this Woman's Care Policy?
Yes, there's a 90 days waiting period from the commencement date, or the reinstatement date, whichever is later for that Insured.
What is a survival period?
Survival period is the period of time for which an insured must survive from the first diagnosis of Cancer before a claim can be made.
Is there a survival period for this Woman's Care Policy?
Yes, there's a 30 days survival period.
Can I buy more than one Woman's Care Policy?
Each individual can only purchase one policy.
Does the policy cover pre-existing conditions?
No, pre-existing conditions are not covered under the policy.

Will my premium increase with age?
Premiums for Woman's Care are age banded. When you move from one age band to the next, there will be a subsequent increase in premium.
Must I inform MSIG to renew the Policy every year?
No. As long as you pay the premium and observe the terms and conditions of your Policy, it will be renewed automatically each year. No renewal advice will be issued.
Under what circumstances will the Policy terminate?
The Policy will terminate and your cover under this Policy will cease immediately upon:whichever first occurs
Can I cancel my policy?
Yes, either you or MSIG can cancel the Policy by giving the other party 30 days' notice in writing. If you cancel the Policy, you will receive a pro-rated refund of premium paid from the date of cancellation provided no claim has arisen and the amount refundable is more than S$10.
How do I make a claim?
Please notify MSIG in writing of any event giving rise or likely to give rise to a claim under the Policy as soon as possible but in any case within 30 days of the diagnosis of cancer. You will need to complete a claim form and provide all information, evidence or supporting documents e.g. receipts, medical certificates or reports at your own expense, which MSIG may require to assess your claim.

You have a free look period of 14 business days after the date you receive the Policy. If you decide to cancel the Policy within these 14 days, please inform MSIG Insurance in writing and they will cancel the Policy from its start date and refund in full premium paid provided no claim has arisen.
