Can I choose which cards to cover under my CardCare Protector plan?

No, CardCare Protector automatically covers the amounts charged to all the credit cards that you hold at the point of application, including supplementary cards.

How are CardCare Protector premiums calculated?

You pay just S$0.58 for every S$100 in credit card bills incurred by you. Premiums are charged on a monthly basis for each of the credit cards that you hold.

Example:

  • Statement billing cycle on 3rd of the month: CardCare Protector premiums will be based on your credit card bill for transactions between 3rd of the previous month to 2ndof the billing month
  • Statement billing cycle on 15th of the month: CardCare Protector premiums will be based on your credit card bill for transactions between 15th of the previous month to 14th of the billing month
How do I pay my premiums?

You will see the premiums charged in your monthly credit card statement. Simply pay your credit card bill like how you usually do; there is no need to pay for CardCare Protector Premiums separately.

For example, if you hold 2 credit cards (DBS Altitude Card and POSB Everyday Card), this is what your credit card bill could look like:

Is there a waiting period for the Early Cancer Benefit/ Critical Cancer Benefit?

Yes, there is a 90-day waiting period from the policy effective date to claim under the Early Cancer Benefit and Critical Cancer Benefits. Waiting period is the time specified which must pass before the coverage begins.

Can I make a claim more than once?

No, only one claim can be made. Once a claim has been paid out, the policy will terminate.

Can I surrender my policy and receive a cash payout?

No. This policy has no cash value.

What are the key exclusions under the CardCare Protector policy?

Manulife will not pay benefits if the claimed event is/ is a result of:

  • Pre-existing conditions;
  • Participation in competitive racing of any kind other than on foot;
  • Over-indulgence in alcohol;
  • Drug-taking unless taken under the direction of a registered medical practitioner
