Terms & Conditions

  1. The Promotion is valid from 19 October 2020 to 30 November 2020, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
  2. The Promotion is open only to selected POSB/DBS customers (known as a “Referrer”), who have received a promotional electronic mail or push note containing their unique referral code (“Referral Code”).
  3. A Referrer may refer friends (known as “Referee”) to use DBS Remit in order to qualify for a gift. In a successful referral (“Successful Referral”), both the Referrer and Referee will receive S$5 cash credit each.

Eligibility

  1. To form one Successful Referral, the Referee must
    1. Not have used DBS Remit in the last 2 years
    2. Make his or her first DBS Remit transaction of at least SGD800 equivalent during the Promotion Period
    3. Enter a valid Referral Code in the DBS Remit transaction page
    4. Be the first 300 users to have a transaction that meets criteria 4a, 4b, 4c.
  2. The corresponding Referrer of the Referral Code and the Referee, in a Successful Referral, will each receive S$5 cash credit (“Reward”).
  3. Strictly no changes to Referral Code will be entertained upon submission of the DBS Remit transaction.
  4. There is no limit to the number of referrals a Referrer can make. For illustration,

Rewards Redemption and notification

  1. Reward will be credited by 31 December 2020.
  2. For Referees, Reward will be credited into the DBS/POSB bank account used to make the DBS Remit transaction in the Successful Referral. For Referrers, Reward will be credited into one of their DBS/POSB accounts at random.
  3. A notification of the Reward crediting, including the bank account number that Reward has been credited to, will be sent to the Referrer and Referee of the Successful Referral. The notification will be sent in the form of an electronic mail to their electronic mailing address as per DBS’ records, by 10 January 2021.
  4. Only recipients of the Reward will be notified.
  5. The Gift is non-exchangeable.

General

  1. DBS Bank reserves the right to disqualify any person from the promotion whom in the sole opinion of DBS Bank (which opinion shall be final and binding upon such person) has committed any fraud or breached any of these terms and conditions. DBS Bank is not obliged to disclose the reasons for such disqualification to any person.
  2. The decision of DBS Bank on all matters relating to the promotion and these terms and conditions shall be final, binding and conclusive on all participants, including without limitation, any decision on the eligibility of any person or cancellation or suspension of the promotion. Subject to and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, DBS Bank’s record of the entries shall be final, binding and conclusive for all purposes and in any legal proceedings. No correspondence or appeal will be entertained.
  3. DBS assumes no responsibility for any losses or damages or expenses arising in connection with this promotion, howsoever arising, including without limitation, from any late or non-notification, any error in computing, technical hardware or software breakdown, malfunctions or defects, failed, delayed or incorrect transactions, or lost or unavailable network connections, or any notice that is lost or misdirected, which may affect the Customers’ eligibility in the promotion.
  4. DBS may vary these Terms and Conditions or suspend or terminate the promotion without any notice or liability to any party.
  5. DBS’ decision on all matters relating to the promotion shall be final, binding and conclusive for all purposes and in any legal proceedings, including without limitation, any decision on the eligibility of any person or cancellation or suspension of the promotion. No correspondence or claims will be entertained.
  6. The Customers consent under the Personal Data Protection Act (Cap 26 of 2012) to the collection, use and disclosure of the Customers’ personal data by/to DBS and such other third party as DBS may reasonably consider necessary for the purpose of the promotion, and confirm that they agree to be bound by the terms of the DBS Privacy Policy, a copy of which can be found on www.dbs.com/privacy.
 

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How many friends can I refer?

    You may share your referral code and refer as many friends as you wish, and receive S$5 for every successful referral.

    Note that your referee must meet certain conditions to qualify. Kindly refer to question 3.

  2. What do I need to do as a Referrer?

    Simply share your referral code with your friends and remind them to use it in their DBS Remit transaction.

  3. Who can I refer and what does the Referee need to do?

    You can refer any of your friends who have not used DBS Remit before in the last 2 years.

    Your referee must make a DBS Remit transaction of at least SGD800 equivalent, using your referral code, during the promotion period.

    The S$5 reward for the Referrer and Referee is capped at the first 300 referees who make transactions that satisfy above criteria.

  4. How many sets of S$5 gift can a Referrer receive?

    There is no limit on the number of gifts a Referrer can receive. Referrer will receive S$5 for every successful referral.

  5. How many sets of S$5 gift can a Referee receive?

    A referee can receive a maximum of S$5, regardless of the number of eligible transactions made.

  6. How will the Referrer and Referee know if they qualified for the S$5 gift?

    An email notification will be sent to the Referrer and Referee by 10 January 2021.

  7. Which account will the S$5 gift be deposited into?

    For Referees – gift will be deposited into the bank account used to make the eligible DBS Remit transaction.

    For Referrers – gift will be deposited into the account used to make their last remit transaction. If Referrer has not made a recent remit transaction, gift will be deposited into any of their bank accounts at random (if they hold multiple accounts). We will inform you of the account that the gift has been deposited into in the credit notification email.

  8. Can my friend join as a Referrer too?

    Only selected DBS/POSB customers who have received their unique referral code via email or push note can be a Referrer.
