Important NoticeRevision to interest rates for MOE-funded loans

Implementation of the new Higher Education Student Loan Scheme from 1 Jul 2026

From 1 Jul 2026, the new Higher Education Student Loan (HESL) scheme will be implemented to replace the existing government loan schemes - the Tuition Fee Loan, Study Loan and Overseas Student Programme Loan, which will be merged under the new loan scheme. As such, the Overseas Student Programme Loan will no longer be available after the application cut-off date set by the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Eligible students in SIT who wish to apply for a loan after the cut-off date, please submit your application for the HESL via the new StudentLoanSG portal from 1 Jul 2026. For more information on the new HESL scheme, kindly refer to the MOE website moe.gov.sg/financial-matters/government-loan-schemes or SIT website.

How it works

Step 1: Ensure that you have digibank access (New to DBS/POSB customers have to open an account).

Step 2: The student submits the online application.

Step 3: Guarantors review the application and submit their personal details.

Step 4: We will process your application. This takes 5-7 working days if no discrepancies are found in the application.

a scan of your passport (only for foreign student)

NRIC/ Passport/ Malaysian IC number of guarantor
