What is this new Mobile Wallet security feature?

This new feature adds extra security for your DBS/POSB cards in Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay. You now need to activate the "Mobile Wallets" toggle in the digibank app (under Payment Controls) before adding your cards.

Why is this feature being introduced?

This feature protects you from mobile wallet phishing scams, where fraudsters try to add stolen card details to their own mobile wallets. Enabling this feature in your digibank app adds a verification step, confirming your intent and preventing unauthorised additions.

Is this applicable to all contactless payments?

No. This feature only applies to adding your DBS/POSB cards to mobile wallets. Contactless payments made by tapping your physical card are not affected.

What if I already have my DBS/POSB card in a mobile wallet?

Your existing cards in mobile wallets will continue to work as normal. However, if you want to add your card to a new mobile wallet, you’ll need to enable the "Mobile Wallets" toggle first.

What is the 10-minute time limit for?

The 10-minute window provides ample time for you to add your card to the mobile wallet while enhancing security. It automatically deactivates the "Mobile Wallets" toggle after 10 minutes, preventing unauthorised access if you don't complete the card addition process.

What if I don't want to use mobile wallets?

This feature applies to adding cards to mobile wallets. You can continue using your physical card for contactless payments without enabling this feature.

Where can I find the Payment Controls in the digibank app?

You can find Payment Controls within the DBS/POSB digibank app – After logging in to digibank, go to More > Manage Cards & Loans > Payment Controls

What if I don’t have the digibank app?

You will need to download and install the DBS/POSB digibank app to access and manage this feature. You can find it on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery. You’ll need to register for digibank if you haven't already.

Can I use Samsung Pay with my DBS/POSB Cards?

Yes, you can. DBS/POSB Cardmembers ("Cardmembers") can now use an eligible DBS/POSB Visa, American Express & Mastercard® Credit and Debit Card ("Card") with Samsung Pay to pay at selected merchants with Near Field Communication (NFC) contactless and/or Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) payment terminals. As a Cardmember, you can also get real-time notifications and details of your purchases when you use Samsung Pay. Push notifications will be sent for transactions made with Samsung Pay on your Card.

Which Cards and devices are eligible for Samsung Pay?

All DBS/POSB Visa, American Express & Mastercard ® Credit and Debit Cards are eligible for Samsung Pay. You may add up to a maximum of 10 Cards per device. Samsung Pay is supported on the following compatible Samsung devices, please refer here . Note that only DBS/POSB Visa, American Express & Mastercard ® Credit and Debit Cards are allowed for Samsung Pay. Business, Corporate and Purchasing Cards issued by DBS are not enabled.

How many cards can I add to my Samsung Pay?

At this time, DBS allows up to 10 eligible Cards to be added to Samsung Pay on each device. To ensure that you are receiving the many benefits of DBS/POSB Cards, be sure to always select a DBS/POSB Card when paying with Samsung Pay.

Can I add my Card to more than one Samsung Pay app on separate devices?

Yes, you may add your eligible DBS/POSB Visa, American Express & Mastercard® Credit and Debit Card to multiple devices, but you will need to set your Card up on each device separately.

How do I pay with Samsung Pay?

To pay with Samsung Pay, you must first add your eligible Card(s) to the Samsung Pay app on your compatible Samsung device. How secure is a Samsung Pay transaction?

Your Card in Samsung Pay is protected by your fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN. For your security, when you make a purchase using Samsung Pay, you must authorise the payment with your fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN. A digital card number, separate and unique from your plastic Card account number, is used to make a purchase with Samsung Pay. All of your payment information will be stored securely on your phone using Samsung KNOX. Your plastic Card details are never shown in the app or shared with the merchant when you make payments.

How it works

Samsung Pay works almost anywhere¹ where you can tap or swipe a card. It works on both Near Field Communication (NFC) contactless readers and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) card readers. Pay with Samsung Pay.

Via digibank app

On your Home screen, tap More, and select Payment Controls

Select the card you want to add to Samsung Pay, then turn on the toggle switch to enable Mobile Wallets"Mobile Wallets" toggle will automatically turn off after 10 minutes. Please complete adding your card to the mobile wallet within this timeframe.

Open your Samsung Wallet app and sign in to your Samsung AccountIf you do not have any, you may sign up for a new Samsung Account.

Mobile Wallet Security Feature General

When you attempt to add your DBS/POSB card to a mobile wallet, you'll receive a notification prompting you to enable the “Mobile Wallets” toggle in the Payment Controls section of your digibank app (this toggle is off by default). After enabling it, you'll receive an OTP via SMS to complete the addition. The “Mobile Wallets” toggle will automatically turn off after 10 minutes, so please complete the process within this timeframe.
