Frequently Asked Questions

What is DuitNow QR, QRIS QR and PromptPay QR? How secure is it?

DuitNow, QRIS, and PromptPay are cross-border payment services you can use to pay merchants in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. They use EMV specifications, which comply with global payment security standards, making them safe and convenient.

How are the exchange rates determined?

The foreign exchange rate is determined based on prevailing wholesale interbank rates or the government mandated rate, as determined by the respective card associations and/or payment service providers.

Currency conversions will incur a mark-up of 2% on top of the foreign exchange rate. The mark-up serves to cover services provided and administration by us and our service providers in connection with foreign currency transactions.

Are there fees associated with using the service?

No. Apart from the conversion rate applied, you will not incur additional fees from using the service.

What merchants can I pay via DuitNow QR in Malaysia?

The acceptance mark should also be tagged to any of the following financial institutions (more institutions will join progressively):

  1. Ambank
  2. Boost (Axiata Group Berhad)
  3. Hong Leong Bank
  4. Maybank (MAE)
  5. Public Bank
    1. Razer Merchant Services
  6. TNG (Touch n’ Go)
  7. UOB
  8. OCBC Bank
  9. CIMB Bank
  10. Finexus
  11. Bank Islam
  12. NTT DATA
What are the merchants that I can pay via QRIS in Indonesia?

You can do so at any merchants that display the QRIS acceptance mark on display at the merchant store front.

I’m getting “Something went wrong” message when I try to use QRIS code to pay the merchant. Why is this so?

You may be encountering this error because you may have entered a non-whole amount in the payment amount in IDR (i.e 10,000.09 IDR). Simply input the payment amount as whole amount and try again (i.e 10,000.00 IDR).

I made a transaction during campaign period but did not receive my cashback. Why?

There are two primary reasons why you might not have received cashback:

  1. Monthly redemption cap: Cashback is issued on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 11,100 redemptions per calendar month. If this cap is reached, any transactions made afterwards, even if eligible, will not receive cashback.
  2. Per user limit: Each user is limited to one cashback redemption per calendar month. If you've already received cashback for another transaction within the same month, subsequent transactions will not be eligible.
